Otunba Sola Mogaji, Managing Partner, will have overall responsibility for our professional services to the Group and will be the prime contact for the Chief Executive Officer and other members of its management. In representing the primary point of contact for the Companies’ top management and providing necessary leadership and direction for our team, Otunba Mogaji will be responsible for approving the audit plan to be adopted by our firm and monitoring our service quality.

 

For quality assurance, we have two levels of review.

  1. Every engagement has an Independent Review Partner, who is not part of the service team,
  2. The firm is also subject to peer review among public practice firms set up by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Quality Service

Our commitment to delivering consistent high quality service to the client is driven by the quality of our team that is carefully selected based on relevant experience and industry knowledge. It is also assured by our open communication with management and those charged with governance and by always maintaining our independence & objectivity in connection with our relationship with the client. We plan the audit by identifying risk, assessing the impact of identified risks on the financial statements and designing our audit strategy to respond to those risks

Our decision-making process is both flexible and effective.  For audit related issues, the primary decision-maker is the engagement partner, who has complete authority to commit the firm’s resources and take on-the-spot decisions on the engagement.  However, where there are areas of disagreement with management bothering on professional judgement, the matter may be referred to the concurring partner for consultation and second-partner opinion.  Sensitive audit issues are resolved by consultation with other partners and meeting/dialogue with client’s management.

Professional Ethics

We have a strict standard on professional conduct and ethics.  All newly engaged staff must subscribe to this, which is clearly set out in the staff manual and “Sola Mogaji & Co (Chartered Accountants) Notes to New Staff”.  All new recruits, as a matter of policy are made to read and sign the firm’s policy documents.
